We’re thrilled to shake up this week’s writing challenge, which combines screenwriting with the dynamic world of visual storytelling, using SoCreate’s innovative Storyteller feature. Sure, you’re writing for a visual medium when you write a script, but when was the last time you actually created something visual?
It’s time to show AND tell!
Spark your creativity, create something cool, and see your words come alive with stunning visuals by completing this week’s SoCreate Storyteller challenge!
This Week's Challenge: "Signals from Beyond"
Setting: A suburban town in the late 1990s
Main Character: Jordan, 16, an amateur astronomer and high school student
Challenge:
Write Your Scene: Jordan discovers a mysterious, faint signal on her homemade radio. Intrigued and a bit unnerved, she suspects it’s a communication from an extraterrestrial being. As Jordan deciphers the signal, she realizes it’s a distress call.
Add Visuals with Storyteller: Enhance your scene with imagery that captures the essence of 1990s suburbia contrasted with the eerie, extraterrestrial nature of Jordan’s discovery. Include visuals like Jordan’s cluttered workstation, the night sky, detailed maps of star constellations, and any artifacts or mysterious symbols associated with the signal when the action or location stream items call for it. You can generate these images, design graphics, illustrate them, find usable images online, or capture your own!
Publish and Share: Bring your scene to life by uploading your imagery in SoCreate Writer, then publish it to SoCreate Storyteller for the world to see! Email the link to YourFriends@SoCreate.it if you’d like to be featured in next week’s Museletter.
