SoCreate Feature Highlight: Adding Action in SoCreate
Using traditional screenwriting software, you might add action to describe a car chase, a scene description, or simply what your character is doing in between dialogue. The action description is just a line or two of text, existing in black and white on the page.
In SoCreate, you’d use the Action Stream Item to add things like action, location, and character description.
SoCreate automatically formats Action Stream Items upon exporting your script to the traditional screenplay format. So, things like scene description and action description appear exactly where you’d expect them to in your industry-standard script.
Why is SoCreate’s Action Stream Item better?
All SoCreate’s stream items, including Action, can be easily moved around within your Story Stream. So, if you decide that you want a character to high-five another character before their dialogue instead of after, just drag and drop the Action Stream Item to wherever you see fit. Need to move a car chase to another scene entirely? Just drag and drop.
SoCreate automatically reformats your script, so you don’t have to deal with a jumbled mess of text whenever you try to move something, allowing you to effortlessly try new things!
Action Stream Items are also easily recognizable within your Story Stream. Instead of scanning through black-and-white text, you can quickly discern action by looking for the running stick figure to the left of your text.
