The SoCreate Weekly Museletter
New Feature by Popular Demand, Save the Date, and a Lion’s on the Loose in This Week’s Writing Challenge!
Hey SoCreators,
Hey SoCreators,
Back-to-school season has begun! Depending on your circumstances, that could mean things are about to get busier for you, or perhaps you’ll have more time freed up for your work and other interests.
In any case, we hope you make time to write. It is cathartic, productive, and you never know how your stories could change someone else’s life. Keep writing, and find plenty of inspiration to do it in this week’s Museletter!
NEW in SoCreate! Transfer Story Ownership
We’re excited to introduce a highly requested feature from our members: Transfer Story Ownership! This new tool allows for seamless transitions of project ownership among collaborators, ensuring that your creative process remains smooth and flexible.
Transfer Story Ownership
In SoCreate, every collaborator's contributions are meticulously tracked, and their names appear on the title page with a “written by” credit. Now, with the Transfer Story Ownership feature, you can easily reassign story ownership to a collaborator. Here’s why you might want to use this feature:
Project Continuity: If you're stepping away from a project but want it to continue under new leadership.
Team Restructuring: When a project shifts hands due to changes in collaborator roles or responsibilities.
Recognition Adjustment: To accurately reflect the main contributor’s role when a story evolves under new guidance.
How to Transfer Story Ownership
If you’re the original creator of a SoCreate Story and wish to transfer ownership, follow these steps:
Navigate to your story and click the “Sharing” icon in the upper right corner of SoCreate Writer.
Click “View Collaborators.”
Use the three-dot menu icon next to each collaborator’s name to access “Transfer Ownership Settings.”
You’ll have the following options:
Keep Contributions Intact: Transfer ownership while keeping your contributions visible, ensuring your work is still acknowledged.
Override Your Contributions: Make it appear as if all of your contributions were made by the new story owner.
This feature enhances collaboration flexibility, allowing for dynamic shifts in story management while preserving or adjusting contribution credits as needed.
Try out this new feature and streamline your creative projects with ease!

This week, there’s a tiger on the loose, and it’s your job to figure out how to catch him.
Location: Outside (EXT) – Central Park, NYC
Characters: Alex (30, zookeeper), Emily (25, jogger)
Set the Scene: Central Park is bustling with morning joggers, dog walkers, and tourists enjoying a beautiful day. Alex, a zookeeper, is frantically searching for a missing lion cub that has somehow escaped from the zoo and made its way into the park.
Prompt: Emily, out for her usual morning jog, is the first to stumble upon the lion cub near a playground. She quickly alerts others, causing a mix of panic and curiosity among the park-goers. Meanwhile, Alex receives the urgent call and rushes to the scene. Write a scene that captures the chaos and tension as Alex and Emily try to safely capture the lion cub before anyone gets hurt. Leave the scene on a cliffhanger: just as they think they have the situation under control, they hear something rumbling in the bushes …
That's it for this week's Museletter! We hope it inspired you to write. Your stories are important, and every sentence you add brings you one step closer to a finished story you can share with the world!
