New Feature Alert: Upload YOUR Images for Characters, Locations, Action & More!
You spoke, we listened! This has been the #1 feature request since our launch. Writers worldwide wanted to infuse their stories with personal imagery. Now, you can!
Introducing the ability to upload your own images for Characters, Locations, Action, and Title Cards in SoCreate. No longer are you limited to our image library; bring your unique world to life with imagery that matches YOUR vision.
Writing a part with a specific actor in mind? Find a royalty-free picture of them online and upload it to use for that Character. Dreaming of a Character or Location that doesn’t exist? Create your own by hand or digitally!
Why Use Imagery in Your Screenwriting Process?
Images used in your SoCreate Story won't appear when you export your script to the professional screenplay format – a one-click process in SoCreate. They're here to inspire you, to make you eager to return to your story, and to provide an immersive writing experience.
Imagery is one of the key features that sets SoCreate apart from legacy screenwriting software. It is your secret weapon to screenwriting success!
Imagery not only enhances the writing process by bringing it to life visually but also keeps you anchored to your story's essence. Stay connected to your Characters and Locations; you’ll feel like you’re there!
Why wait for someone to produce your movie or TV show, when you can control what it looks and feels like now?
Plus, Character, Location, and Action imagery make it super quick to scan your script for key moments.
And finally, imagery releases your incredible ideas from your imagination onto the screen, so you no longer have to hold all that information in your head. Free up space to write an even more creative story!

SoCreate Feature Highlight: Use Story Streams to Have Eyes in Two Places (or more) At Once!👀
Ever wished you could view different sections of your screenplay simultaneously? Enter Story Streams in SoCreate!
Unlike traditional software that offers a single view, Story Streams allow you to see and compare different parts of your screenplay side-by-side.
Why Use Multiple Story Streams in Your Screenwriting Process?
Your eyes can be in two – or more – places at once by adding Story Streams to see your script side by side. No more switching between documents, making confusing file names, and losing edits amidst a flurry of copies.
Whether you're ensuring character consistency or crafting a story that comes full circle, this feature is a game-changer.
Suppose you need to make sure that Scene 1 ties perfectly into Scene 14; you can bring up Scene 1 in one Story Stream and Scene 14 in a new Story Stream next to it. Then, you can work back and forth between Scene 1 and Scene 14 to make sure they tie together and have the story impact you’re aiming for.
You can even drag, drop, and edit with ease between Streams. And the best part? Changes made in one Stream reflect across all others instantly. No duplications, just a revolutionary way to visualize and edit your story in completely new ways.
Add as many streams as you like and supercharge your writing process!
Fuel your creativity and push your boundaries with our weekly writing challenges. Each prompt is designed to stretch your imagination and hone your screenwriting skills. Dive in, and remember, there's a new challenge waiting for you every week!
Location: INT – Prison Visiting Room – Day
Characters: Rhett; Laura; Lucy
Scene Description: Rhett (40) is hunched over the phone behind the glass, on the wrong side of the prison wall where he’s been for two years. The nearby correctional officer gives Laura (40) and their daughter Lucy (12) a five-minute warning.
Prompt: With only a few minutes left in their visit, Laura and Lucy must bid farewell to Lucy’s father, Rhett. But this isn't going to be like their usual Sunday visits when they say, “goodbye and see you next week.” Craft a scene where Laura and Lucy say goodbye to Rhett for the final time, without him realizing they won't be returning.
Extra Credit: Use your own images for your Characters, Location, and Title Card! Find images for these Stream Items online, or create your own by hand or digitally to craft exactly what’s in your imagination. Then, hover over the item for which you wish to upload your own image. Using the three-dot menu icon, bring up the item’s Edit box, and click “Change Image” then the “Uploaded” tab. From here, you can add as many of your own images as you’d like. Select the final image you want to use and click “Save.” Your uploaded image will now appear in your Story Stream for the item for which you’ve added it.
As we wrap up this week's Museletter, remember that we're more than just a software company; we're your partners in screenwriting success. Your success as a writer is our number one mission! We believe in the power of your stories and the joy they bring to you. Keep weaving your tales and know that we're cheering for you every step of the way.
See you next week,
